The Co-operators Group is a Canadian-owned co-operative with over 65 years of history. A leading multiproduct insurance and financial services organization with more than $38 billion in assets under administration, the Co-operators’ members represent a variety of sectors, including agriculture, finance, service, retail/consumer, health, and labour. Its business decisions are guided by the co-operative principles, balancing the need for profitability with the needs of member-owners and their communities. The company’s current push to be a leader in sustainability earned it the honour of being named to the Green 30 list of Canada’s greenest employers and ranked number 2 among the 50 Best Corporate Citizengs in Canada. Kathy will speak to the strategies the organization pursues to achieve financial growth while fulfilling its goals for sustainability.
Kathy has been president and Chief Executive Officer of the Co-operators Group since 2002. She chairs the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, is former chair of the International Co-operative and Mutual Insurance Federation, and sits on the board of the International Co-operative Alliance. Kathy has an MBA from McMaster and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Manitoba.
