The European Bank Authority replied to Euricse Appeal
The European Bank Authority replied last week to the Appeal launched during the international conference on cooperatives “Promoting the understanding of cooperatives for a better world” on behalf of the community of experts from the cooperative world. The Appeal, sent to European Union heads of state and government, the EU’s governing bodies and the European banking authorities, asked that more attention be paid “to the role of cooperative banks in Europe’s economic recovery.” “The EBA understands the widespread concerns, voiced also by the European Parliament, about the key role of regional and cooperative banks in the financial system and the current difficulties for SMEs to access credit” was underlined in the EBA’s response signed by Andrea Enria, the president of EBA .
