Honouring the late Dr. Ian MacPherson, the CCSC's annual MacPherson Talk will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4:00-5:30 pm CST (Saskatchewan time) and it will feature Dr. Marie Bouchard, Université du Québec à Montréal, emeritus of the Centre de recherche sur les innovations sociales (CRISES), and consultant to the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UN Task Force on the Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE).

New Publication: Co-ops and Credit Unions - 2025 Report from the Board Room

What do governance practices look like in the Canadian co-operative sector and how have they evolved over time? These are the types of questions that the Canadian Centre for the Study of Cooperatives’ triennial survey of co-operative governance practices aimed to answer. This report presents the broad landscape of governance practices from the 136 co-operatives and credit unions that participated in the 2025 survey and compares these findings to what was found in the 2022 wave of the survey.

The Saskatoon Community Clinic (SCC) Evaluation Report is the result of a multi-year, transdisciplinary, collaborative research effort to assess the effectiveness of the SCC’s co-operative primary care clinic model relative to physician-led primary care clinics.

 

New Publication: Acting on MacPherson’s Advice: Continuing to Study and Learn from the Northern Co-operative Experience

As part of the new Northern Review's special issue, "Exploring Northern Economic Development", this paper by CCSC Professional Research Associate, Natalie Kallio, describes the work that the CCSC is undertaking that revisit and reinvigorate previous initiatives and focus on a new set of questions meaningful to northern co-operatives and northern communities.
